Master's Group

The MUTTER project is part of the subject Film Production and Directing of the 1st year of Masters in "Film Studies" at Universidade Lusófona.

The group of students who developed and built the platform Transmedia MUTTER, were Andrew Augustine, Antonio Julio Duarte, Rafael and TonyCosta Antunes.

António Júlio Duarte

He has a degree in photography from AR.CO in Lisbon, he also studied at the Royal College of Arts, London.

He is the author of several books on photography: East West (1995), Peepshow (1999), Lotus (2001), August (2001) and Jesus Never Fails (2008). In 2006 ADIAC published Antonio Julio Duarte, a book of projects produced between 1990 and 2005.

In 2005 he was one of the nominees for the BESPhoto prize, the most important photography prize in Portugal.

Since 1990 he regularly exhibits in Portugal and abroad.

His most recent solo exhibitions include: Do Chinese Dream of Android Seals?, Espaço ao Cubo, Alfragide, Portugal (video); Electricity, Museu da Imagem, Braga and Jesus Never Fails, Fundação EDP- Museu da Electricidade, Sala do Cinzeiro 8, Lisbon.

The last group exhibitions in which he participated include: Res Publica 1910 and 2010 Face to Face, Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, Povo, Museu da Electricidade / Fundação EDP and Encounter: Dublin, Lisbon, Hong Kong & Seoul, Cultural Centre Foundation of Korea, Seoul.

Rafael Antunes

Rafael Manuel Patrão Tavares Antunes Martins is a 1st year student in the Master's in film studies at Universidade Lusófona, a graduate in Film and Video and Multimedia Communication at the Universidade Lusófona de Humanidades e Tecnologias, having attended under the Lifelong Learning Programme Erasmus, SZFE (University of Theatre, Film and Television) in Budapest, Hungary, and participated in the programme UT Austin | Portugal 2010, FCSH New University of Lisbon, attending the Short Course in "Convergence Culture" and "Transmedia Storytelling" in the Contemporary Global Media Environment, with Professor Tom Schatz, UT Austin, he also participated on a Short Course in Collaborative Screenwriting with Professor Richard Lewis, UT Austin. Professionally he has been working as a Director /Camera Operator at the private SIC television channel in Portugal for over 10 years and has been connected to the audiovisual environment for over 15 years. He has worked as a director on "O Tenente" filmed in super 16mm, winner of the ICA / Universidade Lusófona prize in 2010 and was a finalist in the ZON awards, "Um Natal Especial", Short fiction film shot on super 16 mm screened on RTP, experimental film "Moeda Viva" selected among the top 15 works within the image and thought cycle "Pierre Klossowski" conducted by the Centre for Communication Studies at Universidade Nova and shown at Cinemateca and Museu Coleção Berardo.

Tony Costa

Tony Costa is currently guest professor at Universidade Lusófona and is attending the 1st year in Masters of Film Studies. Tony Costa teaches cinematography and has a career in the cinematographic department in movies, advertising and documentaries, having started out as an assistant and progressed to director of photography. He has had a few directing positions, two documentaries and experience in production. He is also the editor of several websites related to film and is also a founder and active member of several associations including the recent Portuguese ACADEMIA.

André Agostinho

A graduate in Cinema, Video and Multimedia Communication, he is currently attending the 1st Year Master’s in Film Studies at Universidade Lusófona. He was enrolled in the Erasmus Lifelong Learning Programme at the film school Színház - ES em Filmmuvészeti Egyetem in Budapest, Hungary. Since January 2011 he has been an intern at RTP and made works such as (O meu) Outro Mundo that premiered on PANORAMA and A Tua Última Morada exhibited at Shortcutz.
